HELPING PEOPLE
French's Care Haven is set in 26 acres of picturesque tranquil countryside. We aim to offer a warm welcome to all visitors regardless of ability. We maintain a calm, confidence-building atmosphere where our participants can take part in a range of activities. We believe visiting our farm will enrich each visitor's life with education and creativity along with personal growth and well-being. Animal assisted therapy for emotional and mental health, has been instrumental in re-integrating previous participants into education, employment and society.
We offer participants …
•  Increased confidence, social interactions and group skills
•  Improved physical and mental well-being
•  Development of routine, self-reliance and a sense of achievement
•  Learning skills in animal husbandry, horticulture, organic growing of vegetables and herbs
•  Meaningful work, in a supported environment, for people with particular needs
•  Working on a farm with structured activities, giving participants worthwhile outcomes and a purpose to daily life
•  A healthy daily structure for the participant "farm helpers" which helps develop social and practical skills

Our therapeutic methods provide health, educational and social care services for groups or individuals. People who attend French's come from a variety of backgrounds. Some may need support to help them overcome mental health problems; some may have learning or physical disabilities; others may have anxiety or confidence issues. Whatever their needs, all will benefit from the care and structure we provide.
How French's helped Jasmine
Jasmine is in her early 20's and came to us just over a year ago, she told me she had an eating disorder and was not in a good place mentally: her weight was low, her hair was thin, she had a bad attitude due to inner anger and she totally lacked confidence, even to walk up our drive and speak to me.
The changes in Jasmine from working with me, our team and animals have been remarkable; in just a year, Jasmine no longer has an eating disorder, her weight and hair are good, she has learnt to drive and passed her driving test, has a car, and is studying to become a legal secretary. Plus she now has a boyfriend, is ready to start a new chapter in her life and is moving to a different county. Jasmine said my words to her about needing to change her bad attitude were a wake-up call for her and turned her life around in a very good way.
Below the photos of Jasmine with Boris, is the letter Jasmine wrote to us.

I want to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible experience I've had working at French's Care Haven. When I joined French's, I was in a very dark and difficult place in my life. Being part of this community has helped me so much, with my confidence, as well as my physical and mental health.
I feel so fortunate to have spent time caring for such amazing animals alongside such kind-hearted people. Even walking up the farm in the pouring rain was no hardship because seeing beautiful Boris' face or cheeky Coco waiting for his breakfast, instantly made the awful English weather worth it.
Every day I have spent at French's has taught me so much, not only about animal care, but also about patience, empathy and resilience. Being a part of these animals' lives and watching them regain their trust has been both humbling and inspiring.
I'm especially grateful for the support and warmth of the team. You welcomed me with open arms and made me feel part of the French's family. Whether we were mucking out stables or sharing quiet moments with a donkey, even the hardest days felt rewarding.
Thanks
Jasmine
