GRAZING LAND URGENTLY REQUIRED

Time moves on and life changes - that seems be the case for our animal rescue, as we need to look for a new home and move again for the third time! as the owners of the land we are on now are looking to relocate. We have lots of exciting plans when we find the right place, French's Care Haven will continue caring for all of the horses and donkeys that have come to us over the years and we look to develop and expand our charity to be more involved as a community environment by continuing to support local people when times are challenging for them and giving a purpose to those in need, working alongside of our lovely rescued animals is a wonderful healing method. Willowtree Sanctuary must have had a Chrystal ball, as earlier this year, they came to visit and loved the work we do along with the excellent care we give our animals. They have granted our Charity some money to buy our own land, this money is held in trust and is only to buy land and cannot be used for anything else, as they want to secure our future and stop the overwhelming stress and upheaval of having to keep relocating from rented land.

We are looking for 20-30 acres of grazing land up to approximately a 10 mile radius around Hadleigh, Polstead

We love the area and want to keep all our helpers/volunteers and the people we support with us, as well as our local supporters who come to our open days and fund raising events. No two ways about this we are in a dire situation, as it is difficult to find the right land and the clock is ticking. This is where I need your help.

Do you own land that you could sell to us? Do you know someone who does and can help? Can you put feelers out for us please and contact me if you have any ideas or know of someone to approach, or if you are in a position to sell.
We will soon be opening a Go Fund me page to try and raise some much needed money for the move, as it is going to be a huge challenge and we will need an army of helpers, along with the cost of taking everything down, moving it all and putting it back up. Urgent appeal for assistance from the local community and beyond. Due to the sale of the farm we have rented for the past 6 years, our registered charity that is a care haven for horses, donkeys and vulnerable people is having TO START AGAIN AND RELOCATE, we need your help please. This is the fourth time we have had to relocate due to the land we rented being sold by the owners.

We have been so fortunate that we have been given a donation from Willowtree Sanctuary following their closure to finally be in a position to buy our own land. This will mean security for our charity's future and enable us to continue all the good work we do. This appeal if for raising funds towards our moving costs and setting up again.

The animals in our care are mostly elderly and like elderly people they have health issues. This includes needing shelter from all weather conditions, additional medical support and a safe environment.
Donkeys especially do not possess a waterproof coat unlike horses, they must have somewhere undercover, so that they can get out of the rain if needed.

Not only does our Haven provide care to our animals, but also to the wider community that visit us for therapy needs and volunteering. We have developed programs to help local people and for those who struggle with mental health as well as anxiety and social skills. We have also run a project called 'springboard back to work' and would like to continue to help those who suffer such difficulties, gain the confidence and work experience they need, which will enable them to find employment. French's Care Haven provides a safe place to connect with the land and the animals. Over the years we have been instrumental in re-integrating participants back into education, employment and society, by offering skill development to improve physical and mental well-being.

The cost of running our care haven takes every penny we receive in donations and more for the daily upkeep: Paying for feeds, hay, vet bills, farrier, bedding. fencing and maintenance, the list goes on. As the daily costs take the money we have come in, there are no monies left over for us to start again, which is what we are having to do now with moving the animals, fencing, outbuildings, shelters and all of our equipment and belongings.

Jann Turner started French's Care Haven because of the overwhelming cases of neglect, abandonment, and throw away mentality of today’s society. Unwanted and abused or neglected horses were starting to make their way to French’s Equine Rehabilitation Centre and so it was soon realised that a separate base for French’s rescued horses was needed and the named French’s Care Haven came about, which become a charitable organization. The Care Haven would be totally focused on becoming a rescue centre and safe home for these unfortunate horses and donkeys and any other animal found in need of rescue.
The Haven is run with dedication and the principle of maintaining a professional and personal establishment, which allows each animal to be cared for as an individual and given all the love and attention they deserve and should have received by their previous owners.

French’s website is filled with photos that show positive final outcomes of how our rescued animals look now, happy, in good condition and healthy. Quite a few of our animals are elderly and some have health conditions, which were due to previous neglect, with this in mind their photos now show just how beautiful each horse or donkey can look when it is content and well looked after.

Jann says “I want people to see how well the animals are now after receiving proper food, individual daily management, love and good care, as I think it is nice for our charity to show the pictures now of their good condition and happiness as our end result. Sadly we get to see photos of abused and neglected animals too often, as we all know animal abuse is increasing at an alarming rate”

Helping animals - Helping people: We offer Animal Assisted Therapy. Our therapeutic methods provide health, educational and social care services for small groups or individuals. People who attend French's come from a variety of backgrounds. Some may need support to help them overcome mental health problems; some may have learning or physical disabilities; others may have anxiety or confidence issues. Whatever their needs, all will benefit from the care and structure we provide.
